Hi again everyone! I hope you and your family are well.  This is the last blog of the semester, so i'm very happy! The topic of this week is challenges of english.  First of all, I want to talk about my experience with the english that I learn at university. Even when I had a high expectation of english, I have not had the opportunity to learn the language as I would like. I believe that the fault of that is the precarious preparation of the academic programs and the commitment of the teachers with the learning of the students. Even when i did every blog we had to do for the class, i have to say that i don't like the use of the blogs for the class, at least the way we have to do it. Of course, i wouldn't think that way if only the teacher gave us a feedback on our work.  Anyway, since right now i don't enjoy the development of the english class, and i feel like i'm not learning, i can't even tell what aspects i would like to improve, that is sad i guess.  At le...

Hi everyone! It's been a while since a write for last time, i hope you and your family are doing well.  The topic of this week is "changes to my study programme". I have to say that this topic make me think a lot abour the subjects that i have.  Well, the university in general has a theoretical focus, so in my career I have many subjects that are very difficult (from my point of view). I can'tsay if I prefer practical or theoretical subjects, because until now we do not have the experience of practical subjects. About the curriculum, even when i believe english is important, i prefer the english to be an option for students. So, each student can choose the language they are interested to learn. In my case, instead of english, i prefer to study sign language.  About the buildings and the infrastructure of my faculty, i don't know what to say, because i have never been :).  (But classmates of others generations says that it would be nice to have a better infrastr...

Hello again everyone! I hope you´re good💜.  This week's topic is "Time travel to the future",  i don´t really like to think about the future, because it makes me anxious, but it's an interesting topic to talk about.  If i have to choose a moment of my future i would like to travel, i think it would be my 25 years. I know there isn't much difference between now and 5 more years, but actually i wouldn't like to spoil me my life hahaha.  I don't know where i will be in the future, i will probably continue living with my parents or living alone, i'm not sure. But, if i can choose, i would like to be on an exchange trip in the south of the country, i'm really in love with the south (i dream of traveling to Angelmó again).  If all goes well, i will also be finishing my carreer. Even when it makes me anxious to finish my studies of psychology, i am excited to think about my future work, i hope i can help in the society.  Actually, i wouldn't like to ...

Hi again everyone!  This week's topic is my future job , i'm not really sure what to do in the future, so this is a difficult topic for me actually hahaha.  I'm not really sure, but right now i plan to work in a health center as a facilitator or interpreter for LS, or something like that i guess. I would like to bridge the gap of psychology with deaf people, even a little bit.  I prefer to work in a mixture of boths environment, outdoors and indoors, i think that is important be balance in that (i like to be outside sometimes actually, so will stress me have to be always inside a box).  Even when i would like to travel sometimes around the world or around the country, i worry about my cats, so i don't think that's possible hahaha (first duty, then pleasure).  Right now i'm studying psychology, but i'm thinking take a course or do a postgraduate about disability and inclusion. Also, i want to continue my LS studies , so i'm looking for different foundatio...

Hi again everyone!  The topic of this week is one of my favorite, we need to talk about our pets. If someone asks me if i prefer cats or dogs, i will choose cats without thinking. All my life i grew up with animals like cats, dogs and birds. But i always felt that i have a special relationship with cats, i feel that they can be a great support in life.  Right now i have three new kitties, and i love them very much. Even when they make me worry and don't let me have my classes in calm, i wouldn't change them for nothing.  This is Nemo, we adopted him in September 2020, he's a beautiful tabby orange with white, and he's 9 months old right now.  This is Milo, we adopted him in February 2021, he's a gorgeous roman cat, right now he's only 4 months old (he likes to be on my shoulders when i'm eating or studying).  The last of the kittens is Shiro, we recently adopted him in March, he is cute white angora kitten, he's only 3 moths old (my mom love him for his...

Hi everyone! This time i want to talk about a topic from my career: mental health.  Well, are many things that we can talk about it, but  i want to take advantage of this space to talk about the mental health in Chile.  The first thing that i think is good to mention is that Chile doesn't have good plans for the mental health how as recommended by the OMS. The OMS says the at least 5% of the health budget needs to be allocated to mental health entities and plans, but that doesn't happen in our country.  The consequence of that is the high rates of mental illness in the society. The most common mental illnesses in Chile are depression, anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder.  For this reason, i think it is important to think about the crucial role that psychologists play in our society, collaborating with the mental health and the general wellbeing of people.   To finish, i want to say that i'm happy to study psy...

Hi again everyone!  The topic of this week is "the best concert ever". I have to say that it's very difficult for me to choose only one concert, even though i haven't been to many concerts hahaha.  After thinking a lot, i have to say that the best concert i have ever had, is the Fall out Boy concert on their Save Rock and Roll tour (i think it was the second time they came to Chile).  It was very strange, first the concert was going to be at the Chimkowe, but they drastically changed it to the central court at the National Stadium. The concert was the 24th of May of 2014 (yes, i had thirteen then), and if i remember well, it was a saturday in the night. For those who don't know the band, Fall out Boy (FOB) is a pop-rock band of USA that has four members: Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Andrew Hurley and Joe Trohman. Right now, they have seven albums that are just amazing! Well, going back to the concert, i remember very well that i was in a mixture of fear and emoti...
